Luke was an assistant professor and a librarian at the Illinois Institute of Technology and Jacksonville State University before joining the staff of House to House/Heart to Heart (HTH). He has worked for HTH and PTP since 2003 and now serves as the Executive Director for HTH and is one of the Directors of PTP.

He and his wife Kristi have four children; three girls and one boy, and one grandson. He and his family attend the East Ridge church of Christ where he serves as a deacon. He has also been preaching at the White Oak congregation in Red Bank, TN, and he and Kristi both teach Bible classes at East Ridge.
